"Then, lightning knocks the lights out for 20, 25 minutes," WVU Coach Rich Rodriguez said. "Half the practice was in the dark indoors in the middle of August. Bad luck. What are you going to do?"
Actually, the team practiced with faint lighting inside and things went a little better. The beginning of Wednesday's workout, the first in full pads, was so bad that Rodriguez started from scratch when the team went inside.
"The only time we moved the ball was when the lights went out because the defense couldn't see who had it," he said.
